One of the recommendations is that you should be very careful when locking the two halves of the shaker together. I read a report where a customer did not lock the shaker properly and the ceramic ball damaged the locking mechanism.
So, the rule is that when locking both halves together, ensure that the arrows are aligned properly before attempting to shake it.

Most of the other reviews give the flavour shaker a thums up with the comment that it is easy to use, quick, does not make a mess, and is great for making marinades.
